Fridge Magnet from Vietnam

I asked a friend who was going to Vietnam last week to get me some FM. So here they are.

I would like to keep 2 and give 1 set to my mom. (she's catching up on my new interest as well hehehe) so which one should i give her.. hmm white? brown? or green? I'll let my sons decide :D

My new gadget

Ni la gadget terbaru, bukan dari inspector gadget tauu.. (teringat kecik2 dulu selalu 'gaduh' dgn best fren sbb dia suka sebut captain gadget, sedangkan tu inspector gadget lahh)

nampak simple, tapi.. hmm adakah saya dah terlalu tua untuk figure out mende2 camnih?
Perpustakaan Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur City Library)

Dataran Merdeka

Turut menempatkan galeri untuk pameran dan sebagainya

Laman Santai @ Balai Seni Lukis Negara (21st June 2008)

Guess who? Amy Search.. pheewittt

Datuk Aziz Sattar and Imuda
Among others, there were Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, and two of her artists sisters, Saerah and Saida (AF6), Jac, etc.. of course we couldn't take photos of Datuk Siti since once she arrived, she attracted a lot of crowd. Jac was rehearsing earlier in the afternoon and we regretted that we did not take her photos. Yiyi was running to and fro at the stage in front of her and clapped heartily after she has sung.
Amy Search arrived at about 10 pm. Since the audience were not aware that he was also one of the artists scheduled to perform that night, there was no fans around except my hubby. So my hubby was lucky to be the first to greet and escort him to the stage. (and managed to pose with Amy as well) :)
I, unfortunately had to stay home that night since Yiyi went to sleep and missed all those show.. huhuhu.. but Abe Awe finally could see the person he's been listening to all this while. And of course Amy sang "Isabella" that night.. :)
Yoyo the cowboy

Inilah anak saya yang paling suka bergaya. Kalau nampak saya pegang kamera saja, mesti dia nak berposing sekali. mesti amik gambar dia juga banyak2.. hehehe

Yiyi ni memang manja sangat. yoyo pun nama panggilan manjanya jugak sbb dia ni terlalu nakal, manja dan degil. Tengoklah gigi dah pun dah rongak disebabkan terlalu rajin memberus gigi. Nak tolong berus gigi dia taknak, nak buat sendiri. rupanya2 sibuk makan ubat gigi pulak dah.. almaklumla ubat gigi pun ada perasa strawberi, oren dan anggur.. :p

Hobi si yiyi ni ialah menyemakkan rumah, menconteng dinding, mengubah suhu kat peti sejuk, memanjat kaunter dapur, tidur di sofa setiap malam, tau main bila saja berjaga (tak kira pukul 2, 3 atau 4 pagi), taknak makan nasi, melompat dari tempat tinggi dan mencedok sabun pencuci kain ke dalam baldi sesedap rasa.

Dining Out @ Medan Selera Setiawangsa (opposite Sek. Keb. Setiawangsa)

Last night we decided to dine out at a local food court not far from our home. We enjoyed the noodle and western food here. There are 3 western stalls that open at night (including one which is owned by Nadia AF6's family). My choice is the HM Western Cafe.
If you order from this stall, please be patient since it will take time for your food to be prepared. But at the end, the result is worth the wait. I wasn't too happy when I first ordered from here. But when I like the taste, quality and the servings, I have become a regular customer.
We were told that the owner used to be a hotel chef. He would also recommend whether the food is ok or not. For instance if you order beef steak but the beef has not been marinated long enough, he would recommend that you order something else.

Breakfast ideas

Pancakes on Saturday. I copied the recipe from Kak Ummi who copied it from someone else.. but I modified the recipe a bit (add in some sugar in case my sons wanted to eat it all by itself). What I also did was spread some peanut butter on top or pour some honey.. hmm yummy..

Abe awe requested that I made banana muffin in the cake's tray.. he's bringing it to school as his breakfast. (I would have preferred to bake in the muffin cups but he insisted on the cake's tray).. so it ended up that the muffin was cooked on the outer part whilst the inner section was not.. hehehe..)

The end result. I cut some slices to bring to work. great for breakfast or tea :D

The Official Mascots of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

Beibei (the fish)
In China's traditional culture and art, the fish and water designs are symbols of prosperity and harvest. And so Beibei carries the blessing of prosperity. A fish is also a symbol of surplus in Chinese culture, another measure of a good year and a good life.
The ornamental lines of the water-wave designs are taken from well-known Chinese paintings of the past. Among Fuwa, Beibei is known to be gentle and pure. Strong in water sports, she reflects the blue Olympic ring.

Jingjing (the panda)
Jingjing makes children smile -- and that's why he brings the blessing of happiness wherever he goes. You can see his joy in the charming naivety of his dancing pose and the lovely wave of his black and white fur. As a national treasure and a protected species, pandas are adored by people everywhere. The lotus designs in Jingjing's headdress, which are inspired by the porcelain paintings of the Song Dynasty (A.D.960-1234), symbolize the lush forest and the harmonious relationship between man and nature. Jingjing was chosen to represent our desire to protect nature's gifts -- and to preserve the beauty of nature for all generations. Jingjing is charmingly naïve and optimistic. He is an athlete noted for strength who represents the black Olympic ring.

Huanhuan (The Olympic flame)
In the intimate circle of Fuwa, Huanhuan is the big brother. He is a child of fire, symbolizing the Olympic Flame and the passion of sport -- and passion is the blessing he bestows. Huanhuan stands in the center of Fuwa as the core embodiment of the Olympic spirit. And while he inspires all with the passion to run faster, jump higher and be stronger, he is also open and inviting. Wherever the light of Huanhuan shines, the inviting warmth of Beijing 2008 -- and the wishful blessings of the Chinese people -- can be felt. The fiery designs of his head ornament are drawn from the famed Dunhuang murals -- with just a touch of China's traditional lucky designs. Huanhuan is outgoing and enthusiastic. He excels at all the ball games and represents the red Olympic ring.

Yingying (The Tibetan antelope)
Like all antelopes, Yingying is fast and agile and can swiftly cover great stretches of land as he races across the earth. A symbol of the vastness of China's landscape, the antelope carries the blessing of health, the strength of body that comes from harmony with nature. Yingying's flying pose captures the essence of a species unique to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, one of the first animals put under protection in China. The selection of the Tibetan Antelope reflects Beijing's commitment to a Green Olympics. His head ornament incorporates several decorative styles from the Qinghai-Tibet and Sinkiang cultures and the ethnic design traditions of Western China. Strong in track and field events, Yingying is a quick-witted and agile boy who represents the yellow Olympic ring.

Nini (The swallow)
Every spring and summer, the children of Beijing have flown beautiful kites on the currents of wind that blow through the capital. Among the kite designs, the golden-winged swallow is traditionally one of the most popular. Nini's figure is drawn from this grand tradition of flying designs. Her golden wings symbolize the infinite sky and spread good-luck as a blessing wherever she flies. Swallow is also pronounced "yan" in Chinese, and Yanjing is what Beijing was called as an ancient capital city. Among Fuwa, Nini is as innocent and joyful as a swallow. She is strong in gymnastics and represents the green Olympic ring.

When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say "Welcome to Beijing," offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games. [view source]
